“99 Rabbits” is a segment of the three-piece series entitled “Realm”.
As an artist, I am utterly inspired by the symbiosis of differences that creates the ultimate harmony. Thus, “99 Rabbits” was spurred by my wish to create 99 different characters who are living a diverse, indivisible and fantastic community. Each one’s unique features help them to “absorb” what is going on in this magical society and to keep harmony in the interaction with the others.
In general, rabbit symbolism recalls us to explore and use the tools we have within ourselves. Even though our instincts are inherent, identically to the wild rabbit, they also need nurturing and improvement. I’m impersonating this development broken through the prism of my imagination.
METHOD AND MEDIA
Тechnique: “Digitally mastered graphite on paper”
It’s not a coincidence that the technique I use to draw is called “Digitally mastered graphite on paper”. I used the strength of my freehand style drawing, to begin with, to then master it with the digital progression. I went through the labor-intensive process of creating over 120 conceptual sketches to select 99 of them. It was a really exciting time in curiously wandering in my imagination and ‘playing’ with my characters.
